Types Of Photography

How Many Types Of Photography Are There?

There are over 35 types of  photos. Some of which are Ariel, Modelling, Nature, Night, Astrophotography, Black & White and Digi-scoping. These are just a few while the others will be mentioned in future posts.

  •  Aerial
Aerial is photos that are taken from a height. But not just any height, it must be 20,000ft in the air. Example: Helicopter, Plane, Jet and any other airborne devices.

  • Modelling
When 'model' is mentioned we think of people. Modelling does not always mean people who actually model. There are so many things to use as a 'model', for example you could use a famous art piece as a model for inspiration or a simple fruit bowl. Yes, there are famous models like Gigi Hadid, Cindy Crawford, Sean O'Pry and Francisco Lachowski.

  • Black & White
Black & White can have many effects. It can show shadows, highlights and give a bit more importance to the photo.
You will see this in the following pictures.

  • Nature
Nature is taking photos of landscapes, oceans, animals, plants etc. All things that deal with nature. All of this is combined with angles also, as was said on one of my previous posts.

  • Night
Night photos can be a beautiful things. You can use any technique to capture night photos, this also includes infrared photography. Infrared photography is a very special type of photography that uses sensors or films. Although infrared light is encountered most in everyday life, much of it goes unnoticed. Also, night photos can be taken from any angle, it doesn't matter how far, close, up or down, the picture will still look good once there is at least one or two lights.

  • Astrophotography
Astrophotography, when we hear it, we think astronauts, space, pictures taken in space. Right?
Well, you are partly correct, it is space photography but there is a telescope that is included to have pictures from 'space'. There is a camera to hook up with the telescope which will zoom towards space where the galaxy will be found. Also, the camera can be used to get snapshots of the Northern Lights if you are from or close by to the following places: Scandinavia Island,The Southern tip of Greenland, The Northern part of Canada, Alaska, Norway and the northern coast of Siberia.

  • Digi-Scoping

Digital pictures. It comes to mind when Digi-scoping is heard, but it is not digitally made.
Digi-scoping is used by watching through binoculars and telescopes also. Binoculars are used to see close-ups of a certain animal, bird or thing. It is fascinating to see things close-up because you cannot see things that are far away.

Photos On Beaches & Turtles

               Night Photos At Beaches

What comes to mind when thinking about photos on beaches, at night? You are probably thinking about stars, the moon and small waves rolling in.....Am I right?

Well, what about the sea turtles that come up to the shore to lay their eggs. Now, imagine this, you want a picture of the turtles laying their eggs but there is one problem. You are not allowed to use bright lights. What do you do?
Taking pictures of turtles are not allowed when they are digging their holes for eggs. To see what they are doing bright lights are not allowed. Red colored lights are only allowed as you will see in the photo below.

                                           What Light To Use?

NATURAL LIGHTS
Red lights are used to watch turtles move because if bright lights are used they would stay still and not move or they return to the ocean. As you have seen the photo above there is a red light. Using bright lights can scare the turtles and can damage their eyes.
Artificial light (flash light) disrupts the turtles, also turtles need natural which is the moon light.
Red lights have the opposite effects so it helps the turtles.

HOW TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE TURTLES?

Here are some photos of Leather-Back Sea Turtles, now as mentioned above, bright lights are not allowed. But, there is the exception if the tour guide allows it you may use it. But only to take a few photos. Tour Guides are the only people who can tell you what to do. There will be a certain time when your tour guide says you can use your phones, cameras etc., that time will be when the turtle herself  is laying their eggs. Turtles lay their eggs 3-4ft into the sand, while laying they cry. It's not normal crying like humans, the salt water from the ocean comes out of their eyes. When turtles are finished laying, they cover their eggs with sand and disguise it with another "hump", that way predators will not be able to tell which one is the real nest. Now when they leave to go back into the ocean, you have to take off all lights, that does not include the red light. Tour Guides use the red light to help guide the turtles back to the ocean safely.

Here is a video with my first experience. Enjoy!!
